Recognizing that all men are created equal and that civil rights must be protected, Republicans at the national level passed the Civil Rights Act, and it was a group of Republican leaders who founded the NAACP over a century ago. Today, Republicans continue to press forward on the issues that not just African Americans but all Americans care the most about – jobs, quality education, opportunity and the chance for prosperity. Unfortunately, the historical injustices Republicans have long fought against have seeped into our modern society, especially in areas of education. We believe that parents rightfully have the strongest influence on children, which is why it is so important for parents to have a choice in the education of their children. Arizona’s Charter schools, for example, are just one of the Republican Party’s many initiatives that create a fair and equal opportunity for success for every student who works hard to achieve.
